What inspires us?
We see design as an agent of change, rethinking the status quo and defining a new, better future for our children. We are also intuitive parents who overthink everything.
We are independently developing Tink Things within our family owned creative studio Benussi&theFish. As a future-oriented startup rethinking the principles of children’s design, Tink Things follows a belief that kids' surroundings should serve as food for their brains. Our first award-winning line of EU made & certified sensory furniture is paving the way for a more inclusive and holistic approach to designing for children. We’re on a mission to make the emotional intelligence design methodology a mainstream.
Our way of doing things
Our sensory approach to design is innovative, inclusive and is developed in collaboration with education experts (Faculty of Architecture, School of Design and Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences). Understanding sensory processing is central to our design ethic. We aim to support children’s capacity for sensory intelligence and emotional self-regulation.
We consider all the different ways children interact with their environment, creating inclusive objects that are supportive for both neurodivergent and neurotypical kids. We understand that children live and learn through play, so we design every object to be used as a plaything.
